Birrallee Primary School Playground
A dynamic playground focused on climbing, strength, and movement.

Project Overview

Project Overview

This playground at Birrallee Primary School is a dynamic, all-ages play space designed to challenge, engage, and inspire movement. Anchored by a large Resilience range combination unit, the playground brings together climbing, upper-body strength, and obstacle-based play to support active play across multiple year levels.

Set within a natural school environment, the design balances bold colour with durability, creating a playground that feels inviting while standing up to high-use school conditions.

Designed to support active movement, confidence building, and inclusive fun, this space gives students endless ways to explore, climb, balance, and create their own adventures.

Design and Layout

The layout centres around a multi-level combination unit, with connected climbing and obstacle elements extending the play experience beyond the main structure. The surrounding space is thoughtfully planned to allow free movement, circulation, and multiple access points, making it suitable for both structured and free play.

Additional strength and climbing elements, including a dedicated climbing cube, are positioned to complement the main structure while encouraging progression, challenge, and varied play paths. The Resilience range steel construction allows the playground to sit comfortably within its leafy setting while delivering long-term durability and low maintenance.

Play Elements

  • Multi-level Resilience range combination unit

  • Upper-body strength obstacles and overhead challenges

  • Rope nets and climbing frames

  • Dedicated climbing cube for skill progression

  • Slides and elevated platforms

  • Ground-level access points for inclusive play

Together, these elements create a playground that supports strength, coordination, confidence, and social play for students of all ages.
