This beautifully integrated play space blends natural materials, sensory elements, and imaginative features, delivering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for early learners.

Project Overview

Thoughtful Design for Early Learners

Set within the grounds of The Knox School ELC, this project was designed with both education and exploration in mind. The layout encourages flow between structured play and nature-inspired discovery, seamlessly blending artificial turf, timber elements, and interactive zones. The inclusion of bench seating also ensures comfort for supervising educators.

The surrounding landscaping, water play area with river rocks, and natural finishes enhance the space’s calming aesthetic, supporting both active and reflective moments throughout the day.

Playground Features & Range Used

At the heart of the play space is our Preschool 3 Platform Combination, a timber-rich structure designed to offer a variety of age-appropriate challenges and imaginative play opportunities. It features multiple interactive activity panels, a 1200 platform wave slide, crawl tunnels both above and below deck, and a fire pole for adventurous learners. Easy-access stairs and a shop servery support inclusive, role-based play.

Complementing the main structure is our Bush Hut 2, which includes a talk tube, window servery, and built-in bench seating. Creating a cosy, open-ended space for imaginative interaction. A nearby timber arched climber rounds out the area with an engaging physical challenge.

Purpose-Built for Play, Learning & Connection

This play space was designed to foster physical development, creative thinking, and social engagement. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace; climbing, sliding, crawling, and role-playing with peers. The natural timber finishes and open-ended layout create a calming environment that supports both sensory and social-emotional development.

Combined with the interactive water play area, this playground is more than just fun, it’s a place for early learners to grow, connect, and thrive.
