Description:

Play spaces are essential to primary schools, and Warreen Primary School (formerly Truganina Primary School) is no exception. We at Activity Playgrounds, a specialist manufacturer and supplier of commercial playground equipment in Melbourne, were thrilled to be contracted to create the outdoor play and recreational spaces for this vibrant school community.

One of the unique challenges we encountered was the significant amount of rock on-site. This situation required us to bring in a 4.5-ton excavator equipped with a rock auger to achieve the necessary depths for our installations. “With the larger machines, we could complete the work smoothly, and the final results look great,” explained Miles Rayner, our managing director.

Our team took on the task of installing a variety of play items, including:

  • A senior area playground
  • An intermediate area playground
  • A junior area playground
  • Two 6-meter pyramid nets
  • Three play cubes
  • Two rope play structures
  • Over 213 posts
  • 800 linear meters of timber
  • Numerous overhead play activities

Work on-site began in June 2023 with a dedicated installation team of five, and we completed the project in November 2023. This project was particularly special for us as it was the first time we utilised a ‘weathered steel’ powder coat finish on some of the items, including all posts, platforms, and steel support bars.

We are incredibly proud of our contribution to Warreen Primary School and look forward to continuing to create play spaces that inspire and delight children across Australia.
