An upgraded playground designed to encourage nature play, improve accessibility, and provide diverse experiences for children of all ages, while creating a space for families, parents, and grandparents to connect.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Boroondara Council’s goal was to create a nature inspired play space that welcomed everyone. The design needed to blend seamlessly with the natural surrounds while offering variety, inclusivity, and opportunities for imaginative and physical play. Above all, the playground had to strengthen community connection across generations.

Play Elements That Inspire Adventure

Drawing inspiration from our Fortitude & our Native Range, the main combination unit was given a native twist featuring leaf shaped climbers, timber finishes, and natural textures that complement the park environment. The layout encourages exploration and collaboration, combining active play, sensory engagement, and areas for rest and reflection.

The space also integrates improved pathways, picnic seating, and accessible connections, ensuring that everyone from toddlers to grandparents can enjoy the playground together.

Built for Exploration, Movement & Community

The playground integrates accessibility and inclusivity throughout its design. The wheelchair accessible carousel and face to face swing promote social interaction and shared play, while varied climbing structures encourage physical challenge and confidence building.

Natural materials and sensory details, from textured timber to fruit and nut trees, encourage environmental awareness and connection.
